Jun 14, 2015 — Dear supporters of this cause,
We have been working as hard as we can to get this design shut down. It's a horrible design and it just does not match the Manhattan skyline.
I have emailed Silverstein Properties about why this design should not be built, but their response was not what I was hoping for, and was kind of cheesy.
"Dear Gabriel, Thanks for your email, I appreciate you reaching out to me. While I don’t agree with you on the new design of 2 WTC, I fully support your right to voice your opinion and would be happy to receive the signatures you collect. If you find yourself with a few minutes in Lower Manhattan, I would be happy to show you around the new WTC (and maybe change your mind!) All the best, Dara."
So, this email was sent by Mr. Dara McQuillan, Chief Marketing & Communications Officer of Silverstein Properties. Obviously he did not agree with the public about how HORRIBLE this ugly design is, but then he try's to distract me by inviting me to a free tour of the World Trade Center complex and said "and maybe you will change your mind!"... NOT. This design needs not to be built, and I am happy to have you supporters for the cause. We need to come backs stronger than this stupid Cheif marketing officer, and Silverstein Properties. Their priorities are with big bucks in their pockets and not the beauty and architectural taste of Manhattan. Silverstein Properties, the Port Authority of New York and New Jersey, and Bjarke Ingels should be receiving all of your signatures, so lets pray that it's not going to their junk folders! I have devised up a stew for success, so let's not give up! WE CAN cancel this plan. I have some ideas for all of you gals and guys. #1, share this petition. That's right, if you have any family, friends, or strangers that are interested in architecture (or whatever you want to call it, politics, corruption, money suckers, etc), please share this petition with them, and not just sharing this petition, but tell them to sign it and for them to share it as well. We need as much signatures as we can. #2, you get involved with our cause. That's right ya all, I ain't tryin' to talk with a southern accent to be cheesy, but with ya all involved, this cause will be so much more effective. Please email Silverstein Properties ([email protected]), as well as Bjarke Ingels ([email protected]), and tell them why this design needs to be stop, and please mention our petition/cause as well. So... what am I doing? Well, I am at the moment emailing the World Trade Center Survivors Network for 9/11 survivors opinions about this ugly and eye sore design. I am also sending Bjarke Ingels an email, even though he/his architectural firm should be getting these petition signatures. I am also devising a plan to email and contact some news agencies for some media attention. We desperately need it! Are you a journalist? Email us! Are you a support with ideas? Email us! Please contact us with YOUR comments, ideas, or just to say "hi ya all!", please email all inquires to [email protected]. I want to thank each person who signed that your a big help to this cause and to the skyline of Manhattan. Thank you!
